Well known in the industry for producing high quality Automotive & Industrial diagnostic, electrical testing and charging equipment they have a long history of providing equipment designed for performance, durability and economy. Durst Industries have been designing and building jump starters, battery chargers, battery load testers and alternator test benches for over 100 years. The newly launched Hypastart is an exceptional addition to their range.
The Hypastart is a Capacitor Discharge Starter or CDS, a batteryless portable vehicle jump start unit which has been designed, developed and manufactured by Durst Industries. The Hypastart series are Australian made and built with a durable, fully aluminium frame construction providing a versatile lightweight unit, compliant with current WHS regulations.
The Hypastart was designed with key advantages over traditional jump starters, it’s light weight (12kg), its got a fast charge time (<15 mins), a high power output (2000CCA), a wide temperature range (-40c to 65c) and a long service life (>5 years).
At the heart of the Hypastart is the use of supercapacitors, an electronic energy storage device that can deliver extremely high power outputs as commonly required in vehicular starting. Supercapacitors, conservatively have a long service life of at least 5 years and up to 100,000 cycles providing a strong return on investment when compared to traditional or lithium battery jump start units. The supercapacitors are controlled by a custom made mechanical cam operated switch and custom circuitry enclosed in the Hypastart Control. This control is responsible for the energizing and charging the supercapacitors and Illuminates on the units control panels.
The Hypastart is a WHS compliant, Anti-Spike and Anti-Spark, GFE protected unit able to be safely operated without the fear of gassing, fire or explosion, even if the Hypastart has been damaged! The Hypastart unit can be used to jump start an engine even if the unit is flat or low powered.
All Hypastart models are 12/24V systems, with the exception of the smaller unit being the X1500, making these unique units powerful enough to start every engine, anywhere, it is lightweight and portable!
The Hypastart is capable of providing starting power for diesel and petrol engines found in cars, light trucks, semi-trailers, dump trucks, B-doubles & excavators with engine sizes up to 30 litres in capacity. The Hypastart is also suitable for stationary machinery such as generator sets and marine applications from small recreational boats to large commercial vessels such as ferries and barges.
